Hi, my name is Sonia, and that’s why I created the Lightwalker belt with light in 2010. After twisting my ankle walking my 4 dogs one night, I knew I needed hands free lighting. I was sure that a belt light was the best option to keep my hands free for the dogs. It would be comfortable, simple to wear and keep us safer to avoid tripping again or getting hit by a car. After an extensive online search, shockingly, what I needed did not exist. A few days later, I created the first prototype. When runners started buying it, they requested that I also make the belt reflective to add visibility when car lights approach.
